2004 Mitsubishi install question by Kaomilzo01: Questions about Mitsubishi Lancers?
First of all sorry if I sound like a total idiot asking stupid Q but I’m just a girl who knows nothing about cars =P . (least im not a guy asking stupid Q). Im a designer so all I care most is the look + sound except I dont want people thinking im trying to show off or hate me because they think I’m trying to do up my car like an evo. I just want to happily drive a car I like…ALSO sorry if I dont know the names of things…Ill leave it to you experts ..

Anyway I seem to only like the Lancer style and nothing else. I hate the new 2008 style and I think 2004 is the one I like most, 2005 has this round front that I dont like…

1) What’s the different between the 2000 -> 2004?

1.5) Which year do you like best?

2) Is there any other car that looks similar to this style of lancer. I also like the new honda civic sedan and toyota corolla sedan + some bmw cars but I cannot afford it =(

3) I once saw a white car with a purple body kit on it (not a full big ass one) and I thought it looked really awsome. I want a white lancer with a baby blue body kit on it. I dont want an evo kit or those big one. The car I saw had only a small bit of purple showing so I dont know what kit it was?

4)Ok i dunno what to ask, any advices and tips…I need as much advices as I can or tips…on getting a lancer..thanks

Last Q) So I want a white car, baby blue body kit (maybe if i can), change inside to leather black/white or black/blue, install some alphine sound system because I must must must must have music. I dunno what else? Design a drawing and stick it on my car :) What do u think?

Best answer:

Answer by Ghost
1. 2000-2003 there is no difference, at least not a noticeable one and 04 has a beefier set of models
2. the 2.4 liter ralliart trim from 04 but since were talkin lancer ima a evo 9 guy
3.it was probably an accolade, maybe a vfiber their about the only ones who even do kits for those cars
4.Um…yea…lancer…anyone who is going to be able to recognize your car is going to know its a lancer and will give u crap for owning the”poor folks evo” anyway so unless you want the headache or are just really good at ignoring people you might consider another vehicle
5.match the inside to the out and i’d skip the vinyl it looks really ricer unless you have a sponsered car

2009 ford muffler question by shadowstalker_21003: Will this exhaust system work on my 2005 ford mustang gt?
I currently have the stock headers on my mustang,I was going to replace them and install the 2005-2009 MAC Long Tube Headers with 1¾” Primary’s with a 2½” Collector and a MAC Off Road Pro Chamber to MAC Long Tube Headers, which would lead in to my Aero Turbine exhaust mufflers. Will this setup work,or will i have to buy a different mufflers?

Best answer:

Answer by cobrajet
You will have to buy a special shortened H or X pipe from MAC to make the long tube headers work with any exhaust from the cats back. If your lucky you can get that X or H pipe with cats. This way it will be legal and you won’t have to worry about modifying the O2 sensor setup or getting a custom tune.
I see that the MAC Off Road Pro Chamber is actually a replacement for a conventional X or H pipe. It is an offroad pipe which means it has no catalytic converters on it. That makes it illegal for regular onroad driving and if you’re caught depending on the state you’re in you could get your car impounded and receive a huge fine. Cops in my state will sometimes look underneath a car that has been obviously modified to see if there are any cats equipped.
As long as the Pro Chamber pipe your getting is designed to work with the long tube headers it will bolt up to the cat back exhaust kit you have on there now. You really need to call MAC tech to get a definitive answer. If you’re buying that stuff from Summit Racing they also have the best tech in the parts supplier business.

Toyota Highlander radio question by : 2007 toyota highlander radio?
i have a 2007 toyota highlander.
it does not have an ipod cord, i do not have an ipod anyways..
the mp3 cd’s do not work in my car? why?
is there any other way i can but a lot of songs in the car without making a ton of cd’s or getting an ipod cord installed.. i dont want to spend a lot of money, more then 20 dollars? what can i do ?

when i put a regular cd in my car he name comes up and everything, but the cds can only hold up to 80 minutes so its annoying…

Best answer:

Answer by don r
Some CD players can play mp3 and some cannot. Since mp3 doesn’t work in yours and you want to play mp3, you need an adapter that will input from a separate mp3 player. Go shopping. You could replace your stock system with one that does what you want. Go shopping. On the freeway, you need to go about 90 miles away to listen to a whole 80 minute cd. That’s a rough commute. Just a handful of CDs should suffice for the week.

Last summer, listening to mp3 on a 2000 mile trip- a few unabridged audiobooks- I needed to do something else.

No, I’ve never heard of that being done. You’ll probably find more literature out there for dropping in a Chevy Motor.
Try Northwest Off Road Specialties or Downey Off Road for more info.

Clutch Disc Mazda question by fonze: How to replace a Mazda 323 clutch?
Hi,
The clutch has gone on my ’89 Mazda 323 (old 80′s model)

There’s plenty of room on the flywheel side of engine and room to either lift it out or slide the tranny under the wheel arch…

But I’m stuck on how to remove the driveshafts

The manual for a Micra recommends taking off the steering ball joint, disconnecting the bolts to the bottom of the suspension strut and lowering the hub to pull the driveshafts out.

OK but trouble is firstly the ball joint is gonna be a pain to break the taper and also I’m worried about taking out the (rusty) bolts anywhere near the suspension coil spring

Does anyone know if there’s an easier way?
How about just pulling the hub/brake disk off – won’t that let get at the driveshaft to take it out??

The other thing is the manual said I had to do the same on the other side… WTF
If I can slide the gearbox sideways won’t the other driveshaft fall out at the inboard end?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks a lot,
Martin

Toyota fuel OEM question by dpc719: 1996 Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLI in the Philippines…fuel pump?
Can anyone tell me exactly what in-tank fuel pump is in this thing?? My daughter goes to school over there and bought the car in Manila and the pump went out. She tells me that it is this…1996 Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLI …4 dr auto. Seems to be more than one pump used in these…either has a filter sock with the pump kit or it is a combo with the filter and sending unit. Wish I had the OEM part number but I don’t. I wish to send her one from the US but I just want to be certain that I get the right one. Any insight is appreciated! -Thanks.

I followed the step by step instructional manual and everything seems to go on fine but still when done updating the various regions (they install and the confirmation message shows up that updating was succesful). There a part in the manual where it says delete OV1 OV2 OV3, that is the only part that I don’t files it seems not to bring up any parts and the like. Does anyone have a link to a video tutorial on how to setup the program? Much appreciated. ALso, on the other pc, another person installed it succesfully and checking from the C drive, I see many folders but for me its just the original TMCP folder. Do I have to manually create those files to have it work?

Does anyone know if the Toyota AS1804 OEM radio has pre-amp outputs? I’m getting ready to install a system in my 2008 Toyota Tundra and I want to be sure before I pull the dash apart. Thanks for your help.

Best answer:

Answer by 12pleze
No and you will want it done by someone else as their are 3 converters I know of and wiring is different as you have to turn off amps in speakers or that go to them. Spend the 200.00 or you will waste time and then take it to them. Read the rest of this entry »

BMW 2005 oil question by : What type of oil do I use for a 2005 BMW X3 2.5i and how many quarts?
Also is 10w 30 castrol full synthetic or 5w 30 castrol full synthetic better?

Best answer:

Answer by Martin B
This information is covered in your owner’s manual. If you don’t have a manual, buy one from your BMW dealer, or from eBay.

“Better” depends on the climate conditions where you live, and the driving conditions you subject the car to. Whatever oil you chose, make sure it meets BMW’s oil specification, LL-01. Your BMW dealers sells BMW-branded oil which meets the correct specs.
